A background in visual communication and a fondness for graphic wit has a big influence on my creative process; I act on a whim, the spark of an idea and, through a combination of play and logic, unexpected solutions arise. It gives me great joy to bring these ideas to life and to experience how people connect and interact with them.
Growing up in Norway has influenced my aesthetic. I like to work with simple forms and use sand from the New Zealand coastline to add subtle tone and texture to surfaces.
I’m inspired by nature (including human) and everyday life. I play with form and function and like my pieces to be useful, flexible and open to interpretation, and to pass the smile test before I let them go.
