VIRUS TEAPOTS

As the COVID19 pandemic started spreading around the world in February 2020, graphics of the virus flashed at us from TV screens and I thought “they could make nice teapots”.

I extrapolated the most distinct features of different Corona viruses to make teapot versions of COVID-19, SARS and the Rhinovirus. With Swine Flu (H1N1) I took the liberty of improvising, instead of spikes it got snouts.

The Virus teapots featured in an exhibition at Pataka ART + Museum that opened just as society eased its way back into normality, on June 20th, 2020.
